Celebrate African craftsmanship and cultural tradition with our Fair Trade Binga Bowls, intricately handwoven by the BaTonga people of the Binga District in Zimbabwe. Traditionally used for winnowing and storing grain, these wide, shallow woven bowls are both functional and beautifully decorative, making them a striking centerpiece for any table or wall.

Each bowl is crafted using indigenous natural materials including ilala palm leaves, wild grasses, and creeper vines. Artisans dye select strips a deep brown using natural tree bark and roots, creating bold geometric patterns that contrast beautifully against the lighter palm fiber. The result is a rustic, durable basket bowl with rich texture and timeless design.

Every Binga bowl begins with a distinctive woven square at its center, a signature detail that highlights the handwoven process. Finished with a coiled rim featuring herringbone or zigzag patterning, these bowls are known for their strength, artistry, and cultural significance.

Perfect as a decorative tray, fruit bowl, coffee table centerpiece, or wall basket, Binga bowls add warmth and heritage to modern, bohemian, or globally inspired interiors. Each piece is handmade, meaning natural variations in weave, color, and pattern are part of the authentic artisan process.
